Seley Married | To Those Who Wait

Well. You know what they say, “Good things happen to those who wait!” Let me explain.

We have been planning the Seley’s shoot for (no, I’m not joking) SIX MONTHS! Just about everything you can imagine happened to postpone this shoot! At least three of our reschedules were because of weather. (One of them I seriously thought a tsunami was hitting Saint Louis! I know. I know. That’s impossible, but literally the skies went pitch black, it hailed, it thundered, it lightening! Of all days! Figures). One time-I wish I was kidding-their car transmission went out in the middle of Kansas! Travel. Heat. Schedules. Be creative, fill in the blank….but like I said, good things happen to those who wait!

At long last, our lucky stars finally aligned! And on a positively gorgeous Fall evening at that! Finally I got to meet Andrew and Melinda! Now for a moment, I’m going to be brutally honest with you all. Standing a full 5 feet 2 inches, I have always been a little intimidated by tall people. Truly. I’m not even joking. (All my “shorter than average” friends out there know what I mean!) With Andrew a whopping 6 feet 9 inches (yes, you read that right) and Melinda close behind, I was a bit uneasy. But all nerves were quickly disarmed by Melinda’s warm smile and Andrew’s easy-going nature. Well how ’bout that! Tall people are really nice!

Monday night could not have been more beautiful! With a high in the mid-seventies, a nice cool breeze, a lazy night at the park–I began to be very thankful for all those reschedules so that we could have this pretty little gift of a perfect evening. Both Melinda and Andrew graduated from the school Michael is now attending; Melinda with her Masters in Counseling and Andrew his MDiv. (Fun Fact: Andrew is apparently a recipe-free mastermind in the kitchen! You hit the jackpot Melinda!)

To tie the whole story off with a big red bow, their ease in front of the camera made for some glorious pictures! Well….you’ll see.

So, I said it once and I’ll say it again. Good things happen to those who wait.
