Matthew + Sarah Wedding | Downtown Saint Joseph

I remember pulling away from the little hole in the bakery after the first time I met Sarah. I went home and told Michael how much I liked her! She was sweet, and genuine (and we talked for two hours!!)

When I met Matthew at our engagement session (see them here!), he was the perfect match for Sarah!! He made her laugh, made her smile from deep down. He carried about himself a kind of quiet love. Standing tall over her, he held her hand, seemed to protect her from the world. As I watched their moments from my lens, I knew I was getting to be a part of something special. These two. They were made for one another.

A couple weeks before their wedding Sarah and I met back at our bakery (yes. I now think of it as “our” bakery!) 😉 We went over their wedding details, the timeline of the day. I always like to ask if there are any specific pictures that my couples want. As we sipped our coffee and talked I asked Sarah the same question. And you know what she told me? “I don’t think so! You’re the professional and I completely trust you!” And if there was any part of my heart that didn’t already love these two, those twelve words won the rest of me! In the midst of her crazy, she verbalized her trust in me. In the way I longed to make her day memorable and as smooth as possible. In taking pictures of moments that would last for generations to come.

We hugged and said goodbye–knowing the next time we’d see each other would be the day she would become Mrs. Nienhaus! And when that day rolled around it was a gorgeous 81 degree, cloudless morning! We couldn’t have hoped for better weather!!! Sarah had given everyone a timeline and I don’t think I’ve ever in my years of experience had a wedding day go so smoothly!! She was on her game and BOY was she gorgeous!

How I loved getting to be a part of Matthew and Sarah’s urban, downtown wedding! And (*keeping my fingers crossed*) hoping that I get to see them both again!!! Enjoy some of my favorites from their special day!
