Wisdom, Wit & What Not | Volume Four (Two Weeks Late…Because We All Deserve a Little Grace)

Due to the nature of our crazy lives (family weddings, wedding festivities, rebranding, photo shoots, editing, packing to move, graduation central, trip to Saint Louis….you know, basically nothing), this post is LAAAATE! But I’m learning what it means to give myself grace. I’ve been working like a crazy woman (literally, a crazy woman) to try to get some sense of normal back. It’s a hard thing to do when emails pile up, sessions still need to be edited, oh yeah, and Michael and I have to eat–all the while I’m surrounded by boxes in my house. But, it’s happening! It’s crazy, but it’s a beautiful season and I’m embracing it!! It helps that Michael is laid back and that my mom flew in tonight to spend the week helping me get things put away and decorated! But alas, all of this to say, we’re working to get back on track!!! So at long last, wisdom wit and whatnot volume four has arrived!!!! I’ll update you guys again soon on last week (yes the one were everything officially went down! And it’ll be good. I mean, come on, I found my long lost toothbrush! You’ll never guess where. It was in my rain boot. Logically. Hahahah! But more on that later!) Until then, enjoy our memories from two weeks ago! Lets do this!!!!

-This week I’ve discovered a free, laughter based stress reliever purely by accident. Stressed to the max, I was putting on my makeup getting ready for head shots. I was eating Muddy Buddy’s (a vital part to the happiness part of this equation). My music was playing louder than usual (which means it was up there). And then Stand By Me came on. For whatever reason–maybe the sugar was kicking–I started bursting out in song (I may or may not have sung into my mascara), dancing, at select moments in the song pointing to myself in the mirror. Quickest comic relief I’ve encountered yet.

-I had my head shots taken by Briana Gray (of The Grays Photography…see picture above). PEOPLE! She’s amazing. And sweet. And shall we say–a ROCKSTAR of a photographer!? Needless to say my excitement to launch my rebrand of my business skyrocketed. Just. You. WAIT.

-Good learning moment for my little heart this week. Even in the midst of our crazy right now, I’m learning to enjoy the ride. Because this will be the only “first house” we buy, it will be the only time Ashley gets married, it will be the only time I launch this brand…..so why be stressed through it all? (Feel free to remind me of this statement when I’m in one of my freak out stages. Yes, that includes you Michael).

-Psalm 31:19 guys! It says, “Oh how great is Thy goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear You; which You have prepared for those that put their trust in You before the sons of men!” Drinking my coffee this morning studying this passage I had an “ah-ha” moment! Can you believe this truth!?? God’s great (or abounding or strong or more than enough) goodness is already stored up for us by God for those who trust Him! What a promise to cling to! When we trust His plan, His character, His provision for our lives He promises His ABOUNDING goodness to us! Ah! What a God!

-Basically I love my husband! He called me today on his drive to a lunch meeting to talk with me just because he missed me. Gah I love that man! He gets me every time. Every. Single. Time!

-This weekend was graduation party central!!! (7 parties and lots of chips and queso later!)

-I’ve been editing the heck out of my wrist. Like this is no joke people. So much so my right one was cramping up on me! I’m happy to announce my creativity doesn’t end with pictures! I am now ambidextrous whist editing! OH BABY! True story.

-Michael and I got to go over to his cousins open house for their new home!! Family rocks! Like seriously. And new seasons of life. And celebrating together. (And of course, Kailie’s lemonade!)

-This last Saturday I had one of my sweet couple’s engagement pictures….and guys–brace yourselves–THEY HAVE A BOXER PUPPY! You better believe she was in some of the pictures!!! And she’s the same age as Moose! I almost came home telling Michael Moose needs a girlfriend. Oh dear. What AM I thinking!!? #puppyfeverandmineisstillapuppy

-It’s official y’all! My office is now in boxes! And I found so many treasures! (Hahah!) Like the picture of young Lacey (maybe she’ll grace the blog soon!), a half a $5 bill (not quite sure what happened to the other half. But I’m thinking if I find it then I’ll have $10 of fun money right?), oh yeah! And countdown flip calendars that Michael made me while we were dating long distance in college!!

-Also. I used the word y’all. So that’s pretty cool.

-That’s about it right now. Too much to do, not enough time to do it! Peace out.
