From the moment you stepped into the room, she was radiant. Not nervous or anxious or flustered. But brilliant and bright and beautiful. She was stunning. Now Julie, but in a few short hours taking on a new name attached with it new memories and a new, breathtaking marriage. Her bridesmaids were full of life, joyful! They laughed and pampered Julie. They took time to preserve and treasure each of the tiny details–the small moments that accumulated as they began to make up the day that Brandon and Julie would remember the rest of their lives. Each bridesmaid wore an elegant floor length gold dress and a single pearl around their neck. Roses and smiles were seen on each woman that meant something uniquely special to Julie.
Underneath Julie’s lace gown she slipped on her burgundy heels, turned to the mirror for one last check on her lipstick–breathed in softly and let the door click behind her as she walked towards her groom that would see her for the first time. There was an eagerness in her step and when he turned, a look in his eye that can’t be explained. And maybe more than that, a smile didn’t leave either of their faces the rest of the day. She spun and he admired. She laughed and he pulled her in close. This–this is how they will be starting today and through their forever.
More than three hundred guests gathered together under the muted sky and in the perfect 70 degree day. October first. A day that would now be marked on their calendars as Julie and Brandon’s day. And as wholly radiant as each hour was that passed was….the best was yet to come. Moments before the night settled in, the sun broke from the gray sky and shone. Now man and wife they spun in its light. And so began the story of Mr. and Mrs. Kroenke….
