In a world filled with ‘every other’ and ‘just like’….there was Sophia. Lovely and unique and beautifully different from the rest. There was something soft about her smile and something inviting in her eyes. If you didn’t know her, you wanted to. If you didn’t have a friend, you wanted to be hers.

Her heart was warm and kind and the words that came from her mouth were filled with gentle encouragement. Her faith was strong and exquisite, one that you saw and desired to be like.

I remember the first time I met Sophia and can write these things about her because this is how I felt. She was down to earth and refreshingly authentic. I’m sure I could take a poll and the response would be overwhelmingly the same as mine. So to get to–in some small way–capture the stunning outward beauty that is a pure reflection of her heart, was my joy. On a morning cold and crisp and overcast with winter gray, in rose lace there she was. Beside still waters and wooded shores. Her soft smile the same as the day I met her…
