There was something about the way he looked at her.
Love and admiration. Wonder and yearning. Sentiment and zeal.
There was something about the way she responded to him.
Devoted and respected. Passionate and dedicated. Prized and treasured.
But just a few minutes in quiet observation of them and no one would deny it. They were meant for the other. Unique in their own way but perfect for the other. Balanced.
Though their day had changed, and though the world spun with countless unknowns—there they were. Beside the other. Consistent in love and steadfast in the midst of it all.
And as the sun set and slipped below the tree line–magnificent in color and painting the skies in rare, glorious form–they would forever stay this way.
Through it all.
