Wisdom, Wit & What Not | Volume One

Today marks the first day of the first week of the first volume (this is kind of fun…I think I could go on but I won’t hehe) of something new here in the Lacey Rene Studios nook of the internet! Every Tuesday I’ll be shamelessly, audaciously & very candidly sharing highlights of my week. I’ll impart with you my vast expanse of deep and complete wisdom (*cough cough*), give you teasers of my quick wit (or unfiltered mouth–really whichever you prefer to view it), as well as the overarching statement of “what not”. I added that one in there because let’s be honest, we never really know what’s going to come out of my mouth! So that basically covers all the random things that happen to find their home here each Tuesday!! Some of the things you’ll find will be stories, big events in our lives and everything else in between that may or may not be relevant. So here we go! Volume one!!!

-I had the honor to be an extra hands this last Wednesday to Kayla Alden (newborn photographer extrodinare!) I learned a few things from the experience….there is a major difference in location when you type in Street instead of Terrace. True story. Don’t do it. Also, twins are pretty much the cutest things on the face of the earth (well, that is until they poop on you. Also true story).

-Our youth group cooked and put together a potato bar dinner for the church this last Wednesday night! #rockedit BUT I do want to note that buying potatoes for hundreds of people gets you some pretty funny looks in the grocery store. I, Lacey Morefield, promise to never judge anyone for what they have in their cart ever again.

-This last Thursday I got to meet the newest addition to the #laceyrenestudioscouples ! Nidia and Jose rocked their engagement session (coming soon to the blog!) Although I’m pretty sure they they thought I looked like a gazelle leaping through the wheat field from spot to spot! “Nice! Beautiful!” *leap leap leap “Oh perfect you two!” *leap “Hold that! Gorgeous!” *leap leap

-Michael reminded me that there will always be work…no matter how hard you try to get it done! So take opportunities to spend with friends. (That’s why I need him! He keeps me balanced!)

-SOOOO….I woke up at 5:30 Friday morning (yes, two cups of coffee were involved) to hit the road to Sparks, KS (who knew there was such a place!) to go to the biggest flea market I’ve ever experienced! I wore rain boots. Best. Decision. EVER! Oh also, you haggle for everything you buy! Cool right??? I don’t know if I’m proud or embarrassed to announce that I only bought food. #kettlecornforthewin

-Walks with #moosetheboxerpup are quickly becoming one of my favorite things! Fresh air is to Lacey as a glass of lemonade is on a Summer day. (Invigorating & refreshing!)

-Michael is WAY better at mowing the lawn than me. (I struggle with straight lines. Personal problem?)

-We went to a dance performance for some of the girls in our youth group. I learned two things: 1) The inner spirit of Lacey wishes she could bust some moves like that. Or maybe I just want the cute costumes. I’m not sure.. 2) Michael whispered over to me during the program that he’s always wanted to learn how to play the cello!!! WHO KNEW!!

-Something I feel you should know about me is that I hit these crazy lady cleaning sprees. Like, this is no joke. Sunday was one of those days. Dishes in the sink (thank you Michael for washing like a pro) turned into scrubbing the bathroom, to dusting the living room, to vacuuming the house, to doing loads of laundry, to ironing like a fiend! I don’t think I’d like to run into me when I’m in one of these phases. I’d like to send out a personal thank you to Michael for living with me in this condition!

-When I was cooking this week I opened a can of sauce, went to pry open the top and sliced my pretty little pointer finger. I’d like everyone to know (although as I squeezed my finger and leaned over the sink like I had just experienced a wound ten inches deep) that I did not, in fact, pass out. What I did do was wear a band aid on that finger that was five times as large as the cut because I hear that’s what all the cool people do. And obviously, I’m cool.

Well! There you have it!! Volume one complete! Tune in next week for some more wisdom, wit and what not!
