De and I met in our Wednesday morning women’s Bible Study. It was pretty clear, pretty quick that her heart was warm and welcoming. She was approachable, gentle and gracious. I liked her right off the bat!!! And as if I didn’t already love De, when Michael and I bought our first home she surprised us and bought us a gift card to decorate as a house warming gift!!! (And in case you don’t know me….gifts and decorating are easy ways into my heart!) 😉
We had scheduled their session some time ago, but thanks to weather that just wouldn’t corporate we had to postpone it! But it was nights like this one that made me thankful we finally landed on that date! The rain which threatened a high percentage, held off! Instead the weather gave us a low-seventies, cool Fall day!! Oh all the glory hands!!! (Is that even a thing? I think I totally just made that phrase up!)
De pampered her granddaughter Maddie before their shoot! They went a got their hair done together and picked out their outfits! When we showed up at Smithville Lake the rest of the family was there too! Dayle adores his daughter and loves Katie his wife–it was so easy to watch and see! I watched them laugh together by the hay bales and knew it beyond a doubt! Harlan and De are grandparents who serve their family well…with affection, with care. Being a part of any families story is an honor, but being a part of this families story is special!!!
