A Ordinary, Foggy, Wonderfully Perfect Morning | Briana + Nora Portraits

Eyes, though small and smile though soft and only four years old held inside them something exceptional. I watched them this specific morning, air calm and quiet the earth a bit more still than usual. Thick white fog settled around them, embraced them, defended the bond so unique between them. As they walked through copper grass sharing glances and laughs and moments only theirs…it hit me.

She was her mothers daughter. The woman that birthed her, raised her and fiercely loved her now stood this morning holding her. Deep in her little DNA ran characteristics of her mother. Yes her hair, her cheeks, her beautiful frame–but it was more. The gracious heart and quick smile. These too she was passing along to her daughter. The laugh, the joy in life. The rare act of learning to embrace moments. The unequaled love and unrivaled delight in her family. Each something only time and age will be able to reveal to her.

So until she grows up, until she sees the gifts so sweet and bountiful for her buried in the character of her mother….may these moments stop. May they be proof of the gifts and love and pleasure and friendship and devotion only for her sweet little heart.
