Wisdom, Wit & Whatnot | Volume Twelve

So two weeks ago Michael was out of town for a work conference. Booo! If you’re anything like me, being left alone is probably my least favorite thing ever! (I swear the house comes alive when Michael’s gone!) It was simple. I knew I needed to call in reinforcements! And so this weeks Wisdom, Wit & Whatnots material was born! 😉

-Reason #1898349238 why I love living close to Michael’s family! So that when he leaves for a few days, I cram my car full of my things, buckle Moose into his harness and head down to my new living quarters! My in laws house!! They are the best!!! Well it just so happened that the first day that he was gone was my father in law’s birthday! Here, my in laws were going to have a sweet date night, but instead they practically begged me to join them! (I hit the jack pot in family people!) So my mother in law, father in law and I went out for dinner and to the movies! Not gonna lie. It was awesome!
-The next day my mother in law and I had a date day! Let me pause. Has anyone else in the KC area been to the Black Dog Coffeehouse? Oh friends! Seriously. Stop reading this post and go. Right. Now! It sounds strange, but their toast is ON POINT! This local coffee shop is connected to a bakery. It’s got all the right vibes!
-Next up. My purse. I had this purse for literally, like seven years! I never change purses because who wants to accidentally leave an essential item at home?? Well, this particular one was so old it had the leather peeling off the sides! Honestly I think I had just grown used to seeing it in it’s poor estate. Well, my sweet mother in law was like, “I’m getting you a new purse!” She found THE CUTEST one! All the sudden, every outfit I wear I feel so put together! Hehe next time you see me I’ll proudly show it off!
-After those few days, then my mom flew into town from Colorado! They were tag teaming it on the care system! #iamtheluckiestgirlever
-If you’ve been following along for a while, you know that when my mom comes to town a few things always go down. 1) Decorating for the new season 2) Getting our nails done 3) Shopping 4) The movies ….you know. The essentials.
-And OH FRIENDS did we ever pack it in! I wish you could see my living room right now. I bet if you were to randomly check in at my house I’d be sitting in the middle of the floor with a big ole smile on my face! We found the cutest little birds and vintage books and green wreath for my mantle. My favorite part? Let me tell you! The $12 HUGE floor plant in a woven basket beside my fireplace! My heart is so happy! (He’s on Instagram! See him HERE!)
-I love my plant so much that I named him. (I swear that’s a thing somewhere….) You may now refer to him as Fernando the Planto.
-I had a wedding two Saturdays ago (be sure to check out sneak peeks HERE) and after literally 100 years of rain (basically) it was a glorious 70 degree, sunny day!!! To top it off, I found THE most comfortable black jumper with a gold zipper! Best part is it was only $12! (I think this might be my new lucky number!) If there are any wedding photographers out there reading this….it’s my new favorite shooting outfit! Cozy, cool, classy… I’ll happily share where I purchased it! 😉
-Michael couldn’t make this wedding (my first one in all my years shooting without him carrying my equipment!) but my sister in law was a ROCK STAR and came! She claimed to have been lifting weights all week in preparation! Bahaha! Anyways. She’s awesome and I couldn’t write this without a shout out to her! She carried bags, held flower girls, got the bride water, arranged flat lays and was my overall lifeline. So basically, no big deal. She was just the best ever.
-Wow. Lacey’s life information overload. But it had been awhile, so it was time! 😉 For more random happenings CLICK HERE or HERE!
