A Kansas City Fall Wedding | Jose + Nidia

She was hidden away up on a top floor on the Sheraton. Within walls of deep sea turquoise and surrounded in laughter slipping from beneath the doorframe. I knocked gently to enter to the bustle of expectation as the final touches were being put on Nidia’s hair. Long dark waves curled in soft circles and twisted perfectly about. Sister and cousins and friends. Her mom and aunt ready to help with any and all details.

She was calm and comfortable and in the moment. Soft Fall morning light fell from the window and onto the gift her soon to be husband had wrapped in gold and given to her. She slipped on her heels. Her family gathered around while she pulled on her white dress with layers of gentle tulle and beading across the waistline. She was stunning.

On their wedding the rusty red and copper leaves glimmered while the light shone through them. The bridesmaids dark floor length plum dresses. Groomsmen had on slate gray suits with ties to match. Jose and Nidia were made for one another. She was gracious and kind while he was outgoing and laid back. He loved her…everyone could see that. She respected him and each moment they treasured. Tradition ran deep and the family around them made those bonds run even deeper. This was their moment, their family, their traditions. Their love and their life and today began their forever.
