In a quiet space–amid acres of open land and open sky–the scent of Spring danced on gentle winds. Nature stirred with the smell, with the feeling of newness wrapping around them. Goats of white with garlands of green. Horses black as the night sky. Trees surrounded them, trees that in a few short weeks would bear countless buds of new life.
To the right a quiet brook and straight ahead a table set for them. Tufted blush pink, cross back wooden winged, hushed golds and a pale eggshell blue love seat all ready for their closest friends and family. White candles in gold candelabras. Loose flowers strewn atop delicate tulle. Glasses in colors so soft, so beautiful–catching the glimpses of light between the trees and casting their faint prism to the forest. Pink moscato poured for each guest and a tray of fresh fruit and cheese arranged just so.
A cake was there too. Three layers in height and ribbons of pink swirled perfectly in circles around. The invitation suite had wax seals and vintage floral stamps accenting the custom design. She had auburn hair. Long and twisted loosely down her back with flowers cascading down. Soft layers of peach tulle wrapped with a long ribbon around her thin waist. He wore charcoal navy pants held by light leather suspenders. In the field, a muted sky blue bike had a wire basket hanging that in years past carried with it stories…but today it carried flowers.
This Spring day.
