Moose the Boxer Pup | Personal

Who knew so much happiness could come from something so little?

This last week we welcomed Moose into our family!!!! We prayed hard for the little guy who would be our next dog. We waited, anticipated, dreamed and searched the web high and low. We cried over memories of Maximus but trusted the next puppy would be the perfect fit to our family as well. Over Christmas we finally got our name on a waiting list! Unborn but with a due date of January, we waited. We talked about what he’d look like, about what his personality would be. We made trip after trip to the pet store buying new toys, new food bowls, new dog treats, a new bed, a new collar…

Then he was born! We got the notification that it was our turn to pick our puppy! I still remember it, we had just finished seeing a movie at the theater! We were so excited we couldn’t even wait to get home to look at the pictures!!! And before we went to bed that night, we had chose him! (And I’m pretty sure before we turned off the lights I had texted every family member a picture of our little guy!!)

Then we began bouncing around names. Winston, Brinkley, Watson. We made lists, texted friends, sat around the kitchen table adding and scratching them off the list. (Oh man! Just wait till we have kids!!!) Moose made the cut, then I took it off. I wasn’t sold. A few more weeks came an went…and the name grew on me. Michael was all over it. Yeah! This was it!!!! Moose Morefield! We had a picture, we had a name, now only two more weeks till we had the pup!!!

I kid you not, the final week I was thinking so much him I was DREAMING about him at night! I was even sleep talking! (Haha, yes it’s true! I woke Michael up talking about the puppy we didn’t yet own!!!) Then Sunday rolled around. Our house was full toys and our hearts full of anticipation!

Then we got him!!!! So much personality, so much laughter. So many puppy kisses, so many belly laughs. He is our little bundle of energy. He is our snuggle pup. He is our trouble maker and heart melter. He sleeps on his back and hops around the house. His four white paws are adorable and his white chest with a brown circle is perfect. He brings us so much happiness we can hardly stand it!!!! God knew exactly what our little family needed. It needed our Moose. Our little pup. These may be the first of family pictures but I can assure you it won’t be the last!
